He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love. His tracks take me to an oasis of peace, the quiet brook of bliss.
That’s where he restores and revives my life. He opens before me pathways to God’s pleasure and leads me along in his footsteps of righteousness so that I can bring honor to his name.
Psalm 23: 2-3
When we find that the years of running from our fears, the lifting of heavy walls to cover up our weaknesses and the digging of ditches to hide our wounds have finally caught up with us, the professional advice from the Great Healer is altogether different. Jesus calls, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) Oh, what we could all do with a little rest.
Again, don’t make the mistake of thinking the Savior is just offering a vacation from busyness. He is offering answers to our questions, answers that put us to rest in the confidence only He can give—especially when answering who we are, where we are and the good that God is up to in our lives.
Answers to those questions will bring rest to my heart and yours.
The Hero of our story stands ready. He longs to rescue each one of us from the darkness and restore us to our place in the Grand Tale.
Are you ready to discover who you truly are? Are you ready to discover the Life that awaits anyone with the curiosity and courage to take the first step? Then cry out for help. Rescue is so much closer than you can imagine.
