Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.- Colossians 3:1

Relying on God has to start all over everyday, as if nothing has yet been done. - C. S. Lewis

When I was a kid, my Dad would take me to Major League Baseball games.  We lived in Southern California, so it was either the Dodgers or the Angels.  The games always had a theme:  bat night or helmet day.  There were privileges and gifts that went along with our seats.  We were always "upper deck" folks.  I thought it was amazing to be up so high, to have a seat with a view and to have the hotdogs and popcorn brought right to us!

There are many seats in our lives that come with privileges and gifts.

The trick seems to be to stay seated.

Occupying our seat in the Kingdom, as we go about our day-to-day chores and battles, comes with both position and privilege.  We carry our seat with us … it goes where we go.  Jesus takes us to many places, many environments in a day. Sometimes we are a player and He invites us to offer a gift, to be the encouragement for someone else; other times we are the recipient of love or help. Either way, we have a position in His Kingdom, the privilege of a seat at the game, a ticket to a grand and amazing event.

I pray you are enjoying your seat in the Kingdom … the gift of your resurrected life and that its privileges have you engaged in playing your part on the team God is assembling.  You are needed and you are wanted.  Play freely!

If then you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. - Colossians 3:1 (AMP)

The Daily Prayer - Paragraph 3

Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me and choosing me before you made the world[3]. You are my true Father – my Creator, my Redeemer, my Sustainer and the true end of all things, including my life. I love you, I trust you, I worship you. Thank you for proving your love for me by sending your only Son, Jesus, to be my substitute and representative.[4] I open up my life anew to all of his Life and all his work, which you ordained for me.[5] Thank you for including me in Christ,[6] for forgiving me my sins, [7]for granting me his righteousness, [8]for making me complete in him.[9] Thank you for making me alive with Christ[10], raising me with him,[11] seating me with him at your right hand,[12] granting me his authority[13] and anointing me with your Holy Spirit.[14] I receive it all with thanks and give it total claim to my life.

The Daily Prayer Devotional

The Daily Prayer English
The Daily Prayer, is a prayer passed along and taught to us by John Eldredge and our allies at Wild at Heart. We have learned over the years that we used to pray for many things that we already possessed and truths that God has already given us. Therefore, instead of asking, we align our hearts with God and declare what is true.
