Ann and I have three children; John (64), Dave (62) and Jane (56). As I look back on their early years I realized that my priorities were work, work and more work. When Ann and I came to Jesus we recognized that was not the lifestyle we are called to. We threw our life into church activities; small group, be in the choir, participate in mini-retreats. It was a lot of years before we realized that this was Satan's tricks on us. The deeper we went into the church stuff the more distant we were to the kids. The boys wanted nothing to do with God or the life stye that had consumed us. John took the anger route, running around with "those undesirable guys" and getting into occasional visits to the police station. Dave took the passive aggressive route. Jane chose to be our prayer warrior through this. The family needed healing. Broken hearts all around. The Holy spirit led me to intentionally spend time with the boys, No preaching, no arfuing over little stuff. Just being together began to heal the hearts. Last fall we went on a snorkeling week in Belize. Ann, Bob,John and Dave. We enjoyed a week of relaxed enjoyment. This year we were pleased to be at our grandson's (John's boy) wedding. Another milepost on the trip to real wholeness.
